DePuy Hip Recall

Since 2003 thousands of defective hip replacement systems have been sold by DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.  At the prompting of the FDA, Johnson & Johnson has recently recalled DePuy’s ASR XL Acetabular and ASR Hip Resurfacing systems.  Common problems are that the hip components do not fit together correctly resulting in serious complications that may include pain, loosening of the implants, fractures of the hip and pelvis and dangerous metal particles being shed into surrounding tissue and the blood stream.  If you have received such an implant you may have been notified and instructed to contact your doctor for an evaluation and blood work to see if you have metal in your system.  You should also contact an attorney to discuss your rights.  Please feel free to contact us for a free consultation and additional information.
